Why Air Brake Problems Escalate Fast

An air system that can't hold pressure is a countdown: compressors overwork, dryers saturate, and what started as a $15 fitting becomes a compressor replacement plus a tow. Worse, brake violations are among the most common out-of-service orders at Alabama scale houses — a chafed line or an out-of-adjustment slack can park your truck on the spot and put points on your CSA score. If you hear hissing, see the gauges cycling fast, or get warned at a scale, don't nurse it to the next stop. Call (251) 234-4623.

Our Roadside Air Brake Process

The mechanic arrives and pressurizes the system, then walks it with ultrasonic detection and soap solution — primary and secondary circuits, tractor and trailer. Most leaks are fittings, hoses or chambers, and we stock the common ones on the truck. Brake chambers and slack adjusters are replaced roadside routinely; compressor and dryer failures usually the same. You get a system that holds pressure, brakes within adjustment, and measurements documented for your records.

Adjustment Is Not Optional

Automatic slack adjusters fail silently — the brakes still work, until they don't. Every brake service includes stroke measurement at each wheel position. If your fleet hasn't had documented brake measurements this quarter, our on-site PM program does them at your yard.
